About us
The story of Cathedral View Guesthouse starts in July 2010, when current owners Paul and Christina took over the former Black Horse Chambers. At that time, despite its long-standing role in the history of the cathedral quarter, the building was in a sad state of decline. It needed a lot of restoration work, which Paul, a builder by trade, undertook himself with the help of a few friends.
Unsurprisingly with a building this old, the restoration was a demanding but exciting project, uncovering beautiful original oak beams and stonework which have been worked into the final design. Another discovery Paul made was of an old newspaper dating back to the 1830s! Follow the link to read the story and see the scans.
By working round the clock, the team had the building ready to open as a Guest House in less than a year! The first guests arrived in May 2011, and since then many guests have returned for second and third visits. We’re thrilled to see so many people enjoying the building and hope it will continue to be a part of Lincoln’s history!
Cathedral View is a Lincoln guest house and bed and breakfast in the heart of Lincoln's cathedral quarter.
