We love Lincoln in Autumn

As we’re popping out the other end of summer now and into the dismally forecast September, many people are wondering why Lincoln is going to be such a hub of activity! Well let me tell you- Lincoln looks good in any weather and so we aim to celebrate its historical beauty as much as we can! There really are some fun things going on around the end of September and we have a lot of different people we can please with these activities!

Lincoln Cathedral

To kick off this autumn’s celebrations, we have an outdoor cinema being hoisted up at Lincoln Castle. Boasting two brilliant films that appeal to very different audiences- The sounds of Abba will be filling the Lincolnshire air on the 27th September, with Mama Mia being aired on the giant screen. Then on the 28th we have the classic Top Gun playing to entertain Lincoln’s mass audiences. This is a ticket only event and they’re running out fast- so be sure to book in advance if you don’t want to miss out on this spectacular evening experience!

If you’re looking for something to do during the day time, rather than wandering up and down Steep Hill and getting superbly fit and healthy, from the 27th September to the 4th October there are a wealth of different activities, markets, festivals and open days available for you to partake in!

Lincoln’s comedy festival kicks off on the 27th, with different performances on the 27th September, 2nd, 3rd and 4th of October with tickets all reasonably priced for the range of comedic celebrity on show!

Click here for a full itinerary of the festival: http://www.visitlincoln.com/whats-on/lincoln-comedy-festival-2014

We also have Lincolnshire’s Book festival! With 6 days full of different authors reading and talking on selected genres it is a perfect week for the avid book lover! You can buy tickets online here: http://www.visitlincoln.com/whats-on/lincoln-book-festival-2014

The regular Artist and Farmers markets are also making an appearance from late September to early October, showing off Lincoln’s greatest products and giving everyone a chance to purchase many goodies, stinky cheeses and paintings to take home.
