Start Autumn off in style
The first weekend in September promises to be a hub of activity in Lincoln- boasting a very wide range of festivals and markets.

Whether you’re a food lover or prefer the interpretation and stylings of quaint and budding artisans, Lincoln is the place for you this coming autumn.
Lincoln’s ‘Full English Weekend’ (5th-7th September 2014) is a must see for festivities, proving that; the best part of Lincoln can indeed Morris Dance, giving a rare insight into the vaults of the town’s central bank (unfortunately there are no gold bars for you to take as a souvenir) and a ‘terrifying mystery' in a Sherlock Holmes-esque hunt around The Old Palace Hotel. Lincoln really does sound like it’s going to be exciting in September!
Farmers in Lincoln don’t just walk around with flat caps on and a heard of sheep they need to shuffle down the road...they’re some of the most experienced butchers, bakers and (quite possibly) candle stick makers around. There’s an exorbitant volume of food- ranging from the finest cuts of local meats, home-made cakes and breads and locally produced cheeses (stay away from those stalls if you ‘don’t do’ stinky!) This market can be found in the town centre on the 5th September 2014
Lincoln’s artists’ market is a rare opportunity to see the best of Lincoln’s talent, splayed out on market stalls AND for very reasonable prices; you could come away with the ‘next Picasso painting’. Lincoln adores supporting local artists in their endeavours and set in the historic castle grounds, there is definitely a day out to be enjoyed by all the family here.
Rounding up the single day festivities on this jam-packed weekend is the Chilli festival.
For all those Goldilocks of the chilli world, there are stalls that are too hot, those that are too mild (cold) and some that are just right for you this September weekend. But whatever spice level you choose, you will definitely be warmed by the fun and tasty treats on offer for you here! Either fill yourself up with this delight from across the pond, or watch other people do it with the ‘CLASH OF THE TITANS’ chilli eating contest.
